En Vela first showed signs of life at night, in the midst of darkness, while everyone else was asleep and I (Celia) could only listen to the twinkling of the stars, unable to fall asleep.
In the silence of those sleepless nights, the melodies – which at first were barely whispers – slowly emerged, giving rise to a series of songs inspired by everyday life, nature, deep emotions and experiences, as well as by the celebration and reaffirmation of the bonds we share with those dearest to us.
With the help of my fantastic bandmates and dear friends, the first ideas for the songs came to life, giving shape to a musical world that would not have been possible without their experience and sensitivity. Thanks also to our guest musicians and singers – as well as to the care and delicacy of those who mixed and mastered our album – our compositions began to take shape, transform and eventually find their body and voice.
The production of this album was quite an adventure. It was entirely self-managed, yet we received the unconditional support of an incredible number of wonderful people: family, friends, acquaintances and also many people we don’t know in person, but who’ve heard us at concerts and wanted to support this musical journey.
To all of you, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your support throughout this process and, in particular, during our crowdfunding campaign. Together, we’ve made a dream come true and brought this collective project to life.
